Manufacturing Supervisor-2nd Shift

This is a Contract position in Satellite Beach, FL posted December 15, 2020.

This role is for a Second Shift Supervisor of Operations.

Responsible for driving and achieving safety, quality, schedule and improvement targets for multiple programs/areas across the facility.

The Second Shift Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that production requirements are met, appropriate staffing levels are maintained, employee relations are good, and a safe/clean work environment is maintained.

In this role, the Second Shift Supervisor will also engage in continuous improvement initiatives and drive a culture of engagement and accountability throughout the facility.

Essential Functions: Provide leadership and direction to assigned manufacturing team by leading and communicating job expectations; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.

Lead and assist Technicians and Assemblers by ensuring they have tools, support, training, work-life balance and proper documentation.

Audit Assembly Areas to ensure company policies and procedures are being followed.

Maintain work flow by monitoring steps of the process; setting processing variables; observing control points and equipment; monitoring personnel and resources; studying methods; implementing cost reductions; developing reporting procedures and systems; facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points; initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.

Accomplish master schedule by scheduling and assigning personnel; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; and reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries.

Provide manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data; answering questions and responding to requests.

Maintain acceptable operations performance by monitoring Operations’ metrics (e.g., standard hours per unit, cost and schedule indices).

Promote and utilize continuous process improvement techniques to improve quality processes and costs.

Coordinate efforts with Engineers, Operation Managers and Product Line Managers for labor support, production priorities and early identification of issues.

Develop Assemblers and Technicians through cross-training, creating opportunities for growth and encouraging them to own their career plans.

Work with support functions (e.g.

– Planning, Quality, Supply Chain, Engineering, & Program Management) to achieve area goals, continually improve processes, and/or reduce costs.

Support safety programs and promote safety equipment usage, ensuring compliance of all safety policies.

Communicate information throughout all levels of the organization.

Foster a continuous improvement mindset by driving the generation of new ideas (e.g.

2 second Lean) while executing plans that positively impact operational goals Input data into MES, check QA documentation, and verify employee time cards Maintain staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and managing training records while developing employees towards their growth opportunities Lead 2nd shift Gemba process and strive for 100% engagement of the staff Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or Supervisory/Management and/or 5 or more years of working experience in a manufacturing environment.

2 years’ experience supervising and leading a team.

2 years’ experience with working and applied knowledge of Lean Tools.

Preferred Additional Skills: Proficient in RCCA and 5 Why Analysis Excellent written and verbal communication skills Experience with electro-mechanical Manufacturing Experience presenting to Senior Management and the ability to communicate and influence at all levels within the organization Experience with MRP and MES Strong analytical skills as well as organizational skills with high attention to detail Experience reviewing and creating policies and procedures Ability to negotiate and integrate different viewpoints Ability to collaborate in a team environment Ability to prioritize and adjust tasks to accomplish the project result Ability to develop and present material outside of the immediate work function Ability to provide direction to determine priorities to achieve goals Ability to prepare and analyze data and figures Working knowledge of company Health & Safety practices Self-directed with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment Ability to work a flexible schedule during key business deadlines
