Responsible for driving and achieving safety, quality, schedule and improvement targets for multiple programs/areas across the facility.

The Second Shift Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that production requirements are met, appropriate staffing levels are maintained, employee relations are good, and a safe/clean work environment is maintained.

In this role, the Second Shift Supervisor will also engage in continuous improvement initiatives and drive a culture of engagement and accountability throughout the facility.Essential Functions:Provide leadership and direction to assigned manufacturing team by leading and communicating job expectations; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.Lead and assist Technicians and Assemblers by ensuring they have tools, support, training, work-life balance and proper documentation.Audit Assembly Areas to ensure company policies and procedures are being followed.Maintain work flow by monitoring steps of the process; setting processing variables; observing control points and equipment; monitoring personnel and resources; studying methods; implementing cost reductions; developing reporting procedures and systems; facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points; initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.Accomplish master schedule by scheduling and assigning personnel; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; and reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries.Provide manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data; answering questions andresponding to requests.Maintain acceptable operations performance by monitoring Operations’ metrics (e.G., standard hours per unit, cost and schedule indices).Promote and utilize continuous process improvement techniques to improve quality processes and costs.Coordinate efforts with Engineers, Operation Managers and Product Line Managers for labor support, production priorities and early identification of issues.Develop Assemblers and Technicians through cross-training, creating opportunities for growth and encouraging them to own their career plans.Work with support functions (e.G.

Planning, Quality, Supply Chain, Engineering, & Program Management) to achieve area goals, continually improve processes, and/or reduce costs.Support safety programs and promote safety equipment usage, ensuring compliance of all safety policies.Communicate information throughout all levels of the organization.Foster a continuous improvement mindset by driving the generation of new ideas (e.G.

2 second Lean) while executing plans that positively impact operational goalsInput data into MES, check QA documentation, and verify employee time cardsMaintain staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and managing training records while developing employees towards their growth opportunitiesLead 2nd shift Gemba process and strive for 100% engagement of the staffQualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or Supervisory/Management and/or 5 or more years of working experience in a manufacturing environment.2+ years’ experience supervising and leading a team.2+ years’ experience with working and applied knowledge of Lean Tools.Preferred Additional Skills:Proficient in RCCA and 5 Why AnalysisExcellent written and verbal communication skillsExperience with electro-mechanical ManufacturingExperience presenting to Senior Management and the ability to communicate and influence at all levels within the organizationExperience with MRP and MESStrong analytical skills as well as organizational skills with high attention to detailExperience reviewing and creating policies and proceduresAbility to negotiate and integrate different viewpointsAbility to collaborate in a team environmentAbility to prioritize and adjust tasks to accomplish the project resultAbility to develop and present material outside of the immediate work functionAbility to provide direction to determine priorities to achieve goalsAbility to prepare and analyze data and figuresWorking knowledge of company Health & Safety practicesSelf-directed with the ability to work in a fast-paced environmentAbility to work a flexible schedule during key business deadlines
